CHANGING THE LANDSCAPE OF CANCER CARE

All proceeds from Mansion in May 2025 went to supporting the new Proton Therapy Center at Morristown Medical Center.

The MEVION S250-FIT is scheduled to be installed at Morristown Medical Center’s Carol G. Simon Cancer Center in 2026. Once in use, it will usher in a new era of cutting-edge radiation oncology service.

On October 14, Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the upcoming installation of the MEVION S250-FIT Proton Therapy System™ for the new Proton Therapy Center at Carol G. Proton therapy is an advanced cancer treatment that targets a patient’s tumor with sub-millimeter precision.

It deposits a high dose of radiation directly in the tumor and then stops, selectively destroying cancer cells and leaving healthy cells intact.

It is especially beneficial for patients with head and neck cancer, brain tumors, as well as liver, lung and prostate cancer.

It is also used for women with left-sided breast cancer, as proton therapy can protect the heart from damage.
