The Women’s Association of Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) is a 850 plus member volunteer organization, established in 1893. The mission of WAMMC is to support Morristown Medical Center in advancing the quality of healthcare in the community. The Association fulfills this mission through fundraising endeavors and by providing caring services to patients and visitors.
WAMMC raises more than $700,000 annually for the Medical Center and is also one of the largest contributors to Medical Center capital campaigns. In recent years, WAMMC has contributed $2.5 million to Goryeb Children's Hospital, $1 million to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, $1.5 million to Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, and $1.5 million to Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. Cumulatively, WAMMC has contributed over $10 million to the Medical Center since 1999.
Morristown Medical Center is the leading provider of healthcare services in northern New Jersey. This private, not-for-profit Hospital has been designated a Regional Trauma Center, Regional Perinatal Center, Magnet Hospital for Excellence in Nursing Service and center for excellence in orthopedics, cancer care (Carol G. Simon Cancer Center), pediatrics (Goryeb Children's Hospital) and cardiovascular care (Gagnon Cardiosvascular Institute). Morristown Medical Center is an important teaching and research hospital as well as the second largest employer in Morris County.
